A Foot-Stompin’ Cowboy Adventure: Western Theme Party

Throwing a Western party is a fun option you should consider. Your guests would surely have a great time with this theme. As long as you know the different details and elements of a wild, wild Western party, you and your guests would definitely have a blast.
Here are several useful tips you can use for a Western theme party. Try them out so that everyone will have a fun, foot-stompin’ and hee-hawing time at your event.
Calling All Cowboys: Western Party Invitations
If you don’t want to trouble yourself with invitations, you can easily buy ready-made ones with cowboys, horses and sheriff badge decorations from party supplies stores. If you want to be a bit more creative, you can also create your own unique invitations.
For one, you can make a WANTED poster for the invite, using parchment paper and black pen or paint. Print all the details inside, roll it up and then tie it with a bandanna. Another creative, but costly option is to deliver cowboy hats to the guests with the party details on a piece of paper inside. Attach a note saying that the guest should wear the hat when they go to the party.
Dressing Up for the West: Party Costumes

You can’t be a real cowboy if you’re not wearing cowboy apparel! Wear your cowboy boots, cowboy hat, bandanna, vest, denim pants or skirt, fringe shirt, and star badge for the party. As an additional accessory, you can carry around a lasso or toy gun. Tell your guests to come in their best cowboy getup as well.
A Western Ambiance: The Venue and Decorations
You can hold a Western party anywhere, such as in a regular home, a hotel room or a restaurant, but if you really want a Western feel to the party, find a ranch or farm that you can rent out and have your party there. Decorate it with hay in bales or scattered all over the floor, and some cactus plants, fake or real. Instead of streamers, use lassos and ropes to create garlands. You can also put up "Wanted: Criminal" signs all over the walls of the venue. It may even be funny to include photos of your guests on the posters, as well as rewards.

Dining Western-Style: Party Foods
There’s one must-have food item in any Western party: barbecue. Make sure you prepare various kinds of barbecued food items, such as steak, chicken, burgers and hotdogs, and serve them along with flavorful barbecue sauces. Chips, salsa and dip are also must-haves at any Western party. Think of creative ways to serve them, such as placing them inside cowboy boots, or putting bandannas around their serving bowls.
Fun in the Wild, Wild West: Party Activities
Aside from square dancing, you can also have fun playing different kinds of games. Musical hats is a good example. You can also get a Western-style piñata, but instead of the usual treats, fill it up with toys that go with the theme.
Try out this fun party theme and let your guests experience a true Western adventure. Get out those boots, hats and lassos, and prepare for an enjoyable time. Being a cowboy has never been this much fun!
