If your little girl adores Cinderella, and her birthday is coming up, why not throw her a Cinderella-inspired party? It’s a beautiful treat she’ll love and enjoy. It’s easy to plan it, as long as you know what to take care of. So, grab your wand, play the role of the fairy godmother and use these ideas to make a beautiful event for your little princess!
Invitations To The Ball

If you want to make it a bit more special you can also make homemade invites. One easy idea is to get light blue or lavender paper and cut it in carriage, wand or tiara shapes. Print the details on them and mail them to the guests.
You can also create a scroll invitation. Use colored parchment paper and handwrite the details in curvy handwriting, using a silver pen. Be creative when writing the details. You can write “His Royal Highness, the King, wishes your presence at the Royal Birthday Ball of Princess ____”. Roll it up and tie with a satin ribbon.
Another great idea is to mail glass slippers. Find craft stores that sells small, glass slipper figurines. Attach a small note to them like “Princess ___ is missing her glass slipper! Bring it back at her Royal Party on ___”. Not only are these delightful invites, they can also serve as party giveaways.
Pretty Princess Decorations
One of the most important factor to remember when hosting a Cinderella party is creating the right princess atmosphere. You might not have a large castle to hold the celebration in, but there are many decoration to make your place royal and fit for a princess. Try these ideas.
- Colors like light pink, blue, white and lavender are great. If you’re getting balloons, streamers and confetti, get some in these hues.
- Make a cardboard castle. Use an old piece of cardboard, then paint it purple or light blue. Then sprinkle silver glitter over it to make it shimmer. Attach this cardboard castle outside your home or at your gate.
Different Cinderella party decorations - A red carpet is a great addition to your castle atmosphere. Get a roll of plain red table cloth and pin it to the ground starting from outside until it reaches the party area.
- Cinderella never would have attended the ball without her pet mice and the large pumpkin! Get plastic toy mice and large pumpkins and put them around the place.
- Fabrics can make as very lovely décor. Get some silver or pink tulle and decorate your home interior with it, by swagging it around the entrance from top to bottom, and then tying it back to the sides using a ribbon. Then, get a wide purple satin fabric and let it run from each corner of the party area and meet up in the middle. Just make sure no one trips on it, though!
- Put glow-in-the dark stars on the ceiling for a starry night look. You can also make shiny silver stars using aluminum foil cut in star shapes.
- Prepare a throne for Cinderella. Get a wooden chair and make it look higher by nailing a wooden board on the back. Then, drape it with purple or blue satin and sprinkle glitters and sequins around it, for a jewel-like effect.
Dressing Up As Cinderella
Your little girl can’t have a Cinderella party without the right Royal attire! You should get her a princessy gown, complete with tiara, jewelry and glass slippers. Just make sure it’s comfortable enough so she can move around during the event. Or you can prepare a change of party clothes for her that she can wear during the party games and while snacking.

The guests can also don their best princess and prince outfits. If you want them to dress up extravagantly, note it in the invitations. You can also ask them to come in their Sunday’s best and just provide them with simple cardboard tiaras and scepters.
Cinderella Games

- Cinderella’s Dance – Pair everyone up and tell them to stand on the dance floor. When everyone is ready, play the “Nutcracker” music and let them dance around. Every now and then, stop the music and give a special prize to the guests, like “most elegant couple” or “the best twirler”.
- The Glass Slipper Game – Design a “glass slipper”, by putting silver spray paint and glitter onto a high-heeled shoe. Then, get another old shoe. The kids should stand in a circle, and pass the glass slipper around as the music plays. Then, ring a bell to signal the stroke of midnight. The person holding the slipper when the bell rings gets the old shoe, and sits in the middle. She then becomes in charge of ringing the bell for the next round.
- Guess Who? - Get strips of masking tape and write down the characters in the fairytale, including Cinderella, the Prince, the Stepmother, the Stepsisters, Duke, King and the Queen. When the game begins, a name is attached to each kid’s back, but they must not see what it is. They must guess who the character on their back is, by asking everyone else questions answerable by yes or no. the first who guesses his or her character correctly wins.
- Pass The Wand – You should prepare several plastic or candy wands for this game. Tell the kids to sit in a circle and give them a wand. Then, play the music, stopping it every 10 or 20 seconds. The kids must pass the wand around. When the music stops, the kid holding the want gets the wand, but is out of the game. Give them group another wand and start the music again.
Kids playing party games - The Stroke Of Midnight – The fairy godmother can’t do magic without her wand, so everyone must find it for her! Before the party, hide toy wands around the place. Get a clock and set it at three minutes before 12. tell everyone they must find as much wands as they can before the clock strikes midnight. The kid who gets the most wands wins a prize.
The Royal Banquet
Being a Princess can be tiring and after having so much fun, everyone at the ball must be hungry and exhausted already. They’ll also be expecting sumptuous and yummy treats to satisfy their tummies. Here are some kiddie Cinderella treats you can dish out for them.
- Fairy Godmother’s Yummy Magic Wands – Get plain pretzel rods, dip them in melted frosting until well-coated, then roll them in colorful candy sprinkles.
Tasty magic wand cookies - Cinderella’s Crunchy Dip Coach – Get a small pumpkin and scrape out the insides. Wash it then, put it upside down to dry. Fill it with the kid’s favorite dip and set on a bed of lettuce with sliced veggies, like carrots. If you think kids won’t like vegetables, get potato chips, cheese or slices of fruit.
- Strawberries and Cream – Mix whipped cream, sugar and fresh strawberries together. Serve in small cups. It’s a dessert any princess will like.
- A Medieval Feast – If you’re having grownups over, this will be great for them. Prepare chicken or meat and serve them with gravy and potatoes on the side. It’s a feast fit for royalty!
