party games
Kids love playing games in a party
You’re having your child’s birthday party this coming weekend, and as part of the celebration, you want to organize fun activities and parlor games for her and her friends. Imagine what the party would be like if there were no games or activities involved; chances are your guests would become restless, or they’d be itching to go home early.

There are numerous kinds of games that you can choose for your child’s party. One of the most popular ones played today would be the “pin the tail on the donkey” game. If you’ve ever been to a kiddie party, or organized one, then you must be very familiar with this versatile game. All around the world, in any kind of children’s party, pin the tail on the donkey is always included in the party activities.

Pin the tail on the donkey is very easy to play. All you need is a picture of a donkey with a missing tail; attach the picture to the wall or a cork board. Then, the children line up a few paces away from the picture, waiting for their turn. They are handed a paper donkey “tail” with a push pin attached at one end, poking through. When it’s a child’s turn, he or she is blindfolded and spun around until slightly dizzy. Then the child gropes around and tries to securely pin the tail on the right spot of the donkey’s rear end. Whoever manages to pin the tail closest to the donkey’s rear wins the game.

One reason why pin the tail on the donkey is very popular today is because almost anyone can play it, whatever their age may be. As long as a child is old enough to walk, knows how to handle a tack and won’t put it in his or her mouth, he or she can participate in the game. Adults sometimes play this game, although they often use a different subject other than a donkey.

Another reason why this game is played by many people is because of its versatility. Although the rules stay the same, you can change the object or subject of the game depending on the occasion or the party theme. For example, if it’s a Christmas party, you can pin the star on the Christmas tree instead. If you have a Pokemon birthday theme, you can have pin the tail on Pikachu. As for a Halloween party, pinning the fangs on the vampire would be a fun option.

For your next party, don’t forget to let the kids play pin the tail on the donkey. It might seem like a simple activity, but your kids would definitely have a wonderful time with this fun game.
