Sleepover Party Ideas

It’s amazing how time passes so quickly; it seems as if it was only moments back when your little girl was enjoying her first princess themed birthday party. Now she’s all grown up, already in her teen years. Although she still likes to go to parties, she doesn’t join in kiddie activities anymore. She’s now inclined to go to more mature but fun parties. For example, instead of the usual cake-and-ice cream celebration, she’s now asking you if she can have a sleep over instead.

Sleep over theme parties are very popular today among many teens. Also known as slumber parties or pajama parties, sleep over parties are fun gatherings where all the invited guests are to stay overnight in one house. During the evening, the host and guests stay up late to chat, laugh, eat, play and have a good time. Usually, girls hold these parties, although sometimes boys enjoy them too.

Sleepover Parties are Fun!

Sleep over theme parties are sometimes held because of special occasions, such as birthdays or as after prom celebrations. Other times, they are done just for the sake of having fun. The number of guests at these gatherings is fewer compared to other parties. The host can invite as few as two friends or up to ten guests at a time, sometimes even more.

The beauty of having a sleep over party is that you and your teenager’s guests can relax. There’s no need for fancy outfits and there are no curfews. The guests can also do a lot of fun things, as long as they don’t disturb the other people inside the house.

Sleepover Activities

There are numerous fun things that teenagers can do during a sleep over. Pillow fights, playing board games, playing truth or dare, ordering pizza and playing video games are common examples. Another fun option is to have a spa night, letting the girls pamper themselves by doing facials, painting their nails or by holding modeling shows. Telling spooky stories is also an exciting activity during sleep overs.

As soon as your child reaches his or her adolescent years, he or she will ask permission to hold a sleep over at your home. Say yes; it’s part of teen life. Sleep overs allow your child to have fun, socialize and become more mature. Just make sure you prepare all their supplies so that they’ll be all set to have fun.
