Teletubby Theme Party: A Delightful Birthday Party Treat for Your Young Children

Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po. They’re the Teletubbies, the four cutest and funniest aliens that have ever landed on our TV screens. If you have kids in preschool, they probably are familiar with these adorable characters and their entertaining show. Because of their simple stories, amusing demeanor and their colorful episodes, your kids love watching them.
As you see the delighted look on your child’s face as she watches this show, you remember that her birthday is coming up in a few weeks. You have to prepare a party for her, and what better way than to celebrate it with a Teletubby theme? She’ll surely shriek with joy as soon as the party begins and she sees that all the motifs show her favorite alien characters.
Planning a Teletubby party is easy. Here are several helpful hints to guide you as you prepare a fun-filled celebration for your little Teletubby lover.

- Ask the guests to come in their favorite Teletubby’s color: Green for Dispsy, purple for Tinky Winky, red for Po and yellow for Laa-Laa. No, they don’t have to purchase actual costumes. Makeshift sleepers can work well with matching socks pulled up to the knees. As soon as the guests enter, give them makeshift Teletubbies antennas that match their costume.
- Teletubbies live in the cheerful and bright Teletubby land. To make your guests feel as if they’re in this magical world, decorate the area with colorful balloons and large flowers. Use green tablecloths to create a refreshing and eye-pleasing look. You should also play the Teletubbies theme song and other children’s songs for lively background music.
- As for your snack treats, there are two must-haves that you should include on your menu: The Tubby Toast and Tubby Custard. These are the favorite treats of these alien creatures. To make the Tubby Toast, use olives, cherry tomatoes and melted cheese to create a smiley face on top of an English muffin. For the Tubby Custard, you can create a simple milkshake concoction and put fresh strawberries and bananas in it.

- Teletubbies love dancing and playing simple but silly games. Lead the kids through playing the copycat game or “Simon Says.” You should also let them do the Da Boom Boom! Dance, which is the Teletubby version of a conga line.

Throwing a Teletubbies theme party is fun, but remember, it isn’t fit for all ages. It’s good for children that are at most five years old. As soon as they get past that age, they might start finding Teletubbies boring. After that age, you should consider other themes for their party.
