Cake Toppers
What’s a party without yummy cake? Of the many different desserts, this one is definitely the most popularly seen during parties. You see cake at weddings, anniversaries and birthdays. Even on holidays, such as Christmas and Thanksgiving, this sweet treat is often handed out to the guests. Nothing can complete a fun party than a delicious slice of cake.
Aside from it’s taste, another factor many people look at when they get this dessert is how it looks. Cakes have to look tasty, presentable and enticing. Otherwise, everyone will just ignore them. Luckily, there are now lovely materials you can put on your cake, known as cake toppers.
A cake topper is a type of party decoration made solely for the cake’s surface, to add an elegant and pleasing appearance to the dessert. Aside from all the icings, candies and frostings, this unique décor creates a stunning look for the cake. Most cakes seen during parties today have toppers on their surfaces.
Different parties call for different cakes, and different cakes mean different toppers. The type of cake topper usually depends on the type of party being held. For example, a wedding cake topper would include a groom and bride figurine or a pair of doves. Halloween’s would have a black cat, skeleton or pumpkin. A cake for Valentine’s Day would have hearts or Cupid with his bow and arrow on the top. There are also unique and elegant cake toppers, such as letter toppers and ones with Swarovski crystals on them.
Cake toppers are usually ordered along with the cake, but if you just have one that’s homemade, you can simply buy one from a cake shop or a party supplies store. If you want, you can also find substitutes around the home. For example, if the cake’s for a children’s party, just use small toys instead of actual toppers. It’s a unique and cost-friendly option.
Liven up a cake with cake toppers. They’ll certainly add a lovely and delightful look for your party treat!

I myself just prefer some candles for my cakes, but if it’s a children’s party then yeah, I think it’s better to make it look more colorful and enticing.
I’m very artistic, so for my children’s birthday parties, I always make paper doll cake toppers. I just draw cartoon figures of my children on a cardboard and then cut them out. It’s very easy. The drawing doesn’t need to look too good because you wanna make it look like as if a child made it.
