It’s traditional for women to hold baby showers for a pregnant female friend. Usually, the men are left out because these events are, well, a bit too cheesy for them, among the many reasons. Even so, there are some excited dads-to-be who want to celebrate this fun event. After all, there’s no rule saying that men can’t have baby showers, right? That’s why if you want daddy to join in the baby celebration, you should organize a daddy shower especially for him!

Daddy showers are not quite uncommon today. Usually, the dad-to-be’s closest friends are invited to this event. Although the party is a bit different from the traditional baby shower. There are no cutesy decorations or invitations, and no frilly games during these events. In fact, a daddy shower is very much like a bachelor’s party, except the party centers around a daddy and there’s a bit of baby-related stuff during the party.

• Get “manly” invitations. No cutesy bunnies, storks or other baby animals. No nursery rhymes. Just find one with sports-related decors or images of men partying on the front cover.
• You don’t have to put up decorations, but if you really want to liven up the places, simple streamers and balloons will do.
• Men have big appetites, so the typical finger foods served during women showers might not satisfy them. Serve filling food items, such as meat, burgers, pizza, chips and dip. Also, don’t forget the beer!
• Instead of baby shower games, have the guests say some fatherhood advice and funny messages to the dad-to-be.
• The guests don’t have to bring gifts to the party, since the mom-to-be will certainly receive some during her shower. Just ask them to bring packs of diaper to the event.
